To be more precise Club 3D Radeon R7 250X 1GB DDR5 128-bit vs. Sapphire Radeon R7 250 with Boost, 2GB, GDDR5, 128 bit

Which one is better ? And which one would be better suited for my old E8400 (3Ghz) ?

I've already asked some questions regarding an upgrade to my old graphics card here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2898675/changing-graphics-card.html
but since my CPU is old I'm curious if 1 extra GB would help me more than the speed of the "X" version.

Also for some reason the 250 is marketed with DX12, while the 250x is not... I don't really understand.

P.S. Sorry if this post was against the rules, I've searched some and couldn't find an answer to my version of the question

250x > 250. Despite only have 1 gb, 250x has more stream processors will give you better performance. Dx 12? It may related with the Architecture of the card. I am almost certain both cards have some dx 12 support.

In short, the R7 250X has much better performance, it has more cores (640 vs 384). Both cards support DX12 'cuz both have the same GPU architecture (GCN). Neither of the cards will ever be able to fill even 1GB of VRAM, they don't have the performance to do it.
