So I just made a new build, MSI Z170A M3 with I5 6600 and Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4(2x4gb).
It would not boot up if I the ram in 1 & 3 or 2 & 4, i tried using just 1 stick and it still didn't work. So i tried 1&2 and it booted into bios and I was able to install windows into the SSD.
I checked the bios & system properties and it detects the 8gb of ram.
Is it fine if I leave it like that or should I be worried that something is wrong the the MB?
