My Seagate External Hard Hardrive not being detected by My Computer.

The things I have done so far:

Tried different USB cable, still the same problem.
Tried using these USB cable on other hard drives, they work.
Tried switching ports, same problem, can't detect the Seagate.
Tried connecting my other external harddrives to these ports, they work.

So what I have deduced is, it is not the ports, nor the USB cables...

The light of the Seagate External Hard drive is on.
There is no "weird" noise. There is no noise at all.

:(

Hi there jjeff09,

Is the drive recognized by Disk Management and how?
In case it is, but has damaged partitions/file system, you may need to use some data recovery tool in order to retrieve the data stored on it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html

If it is not, then there is something wrong with the enclosure or the HDD itself. In that case you can:
- RMA the drive if under warranty.
- Contact a data recovery company in case the data is crucial
- Some users take the drive out of the enclosure. You do that on your own risk as it may not work.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,
