Every 3 months or so I replace my HDD. It just keeps failing, and shows "select proper boot device"(however not the point). The point is is it a motherboard problem or maybe a loose wire?

Solution
1. Damaged Data cable
2. MBR Virus... transmitted to each HDD from another HDD, or removable media.
3. BIOS virus
4. Power issue (bad power connection or PSU)
5. Motherboard issue

Hard Disk Sentinel should help determine if it's really the HDD or another cause.
