Graphics card or RAM for an APU

I'm using 4gb 1600mhz ram and I have two choices in my mind since I want to increase fps a lil' bit. what should I buy, a 8GB G skill ripjaws X ram(right away) or a 260x/750Ti card(save for this)? I usually play dota 2, nfs rivals and wot

The biggest performance boost for your money will be from getting a GPU. The 260X and 750ti are pretty much evenly matched so I would suggest just getting whichever has the best price at the time you go to buy.

Need more info on your system to make a real assessment of your system upgrade paths. Biggest thing is what CPU, motherboard, PSU, and RAM, (brand, make, model)..

Are you currently running one 4 GB RAM stick?
If so then upgrade to 2 x 4 GB RAM to enable dual channel mode.
Your system will be more responsive and you will see an increase in frame rate.

MoBo: ASUS A68HM-K
PSU: Local brand but performing good.

The 7850K is a decent CPU.
Upgrade the memory first the APU will benefit from high speed memory.

yeah I usually got 30 fps in most games but I want moreeeeeeeeeeeee. lel. So I'll go for the RAM then? and I'll buy the graphics card in future??

Grab a 750 ti, much bigger boost in performance than the high speed ram but still using the APU.

O ma god. My money right now is still in halfway to get the graphics card and enough for the RAM , what should I buy? Save for the card or buy the ram right now?

Save for the card. Although you get a boost with the ram, its no where near as good as a 750 ti...

No, he really should get 8gb of 2133.

Besides giving him the amount of ram he should have, it will help out significantly with his frame rates.

Not quite as high of frames as a 750ti or 260x, but its still going to perform much better. And like he said, he can't afford the gpu upgrade now, much less both.

Apus should never be paired with 1600. 1866 is the minimum for graphics performance and 2133 is optimal.

If he COULD afford it now, which he cannot.

It's get decent performance now, or moderately better performance later.

The APU does serve a purpose over the CPU, and this is exactly it.
