title thread
so some days ago i was doing something after playing
and noticed that i reached 90ºc (not even full load, just after gaming)
so what can i do to improve heat control? i can tell that temp is too high
using stock cooler
it's seated correctly
room temp hovers around 30º
it idles at about 40º with occasional jumps to 50º with a little more than 50% fan
i had to cap the clock at 3.5ghz to keep it at 80º while gaming and with the cooler at eternal 100% speed

They do run warm, an IT tester for asus sold me my 4790k, he had a stock cooler which he didn't want to supply as he was concerned i may heat it too much. As i didn't have a suitable cooler he gave it to me with a strong suggestion of replacing with something better. those coolers suit some previous cpu's with lower clocks. I bought a Kraken X41 AIO watercooler. still hits 65c-70c on 100% but this won't kill it
