i'll start of by saying that my current rig is a GTX 960 2GB(Stock Speeds), AMD FX-8350(Stock Speeds),Corsair CX600 power supply,8GB DDR3 RAM,And a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3(Which has PCIe Gen 2.0 Slots. From askin around for help in the past alot of people have told me my power supply may not be adequate for a 980ti with the current specs excluding the 960 as far as money goes I have spent all my budget on the 980ti which leaves me with some issues, secondly the PCIe slot generation. i'm anxious if that will be a moderate bottleneck missing out on a few frames won't bother me. lastly is heat in my case as I have an AMD CPU which is watercooled is still pumping out alot of heat. And the fact that i have only 2 120mm fans one of which is the radiator fan probably wont help, anyway thanks is advance

You don't need a 1000w PSU. You can get away with 750-850 just fine.

Who ever your friend is... May not be the best guy/gal to talk to about computer parts. It appears he is encouraging you to buy parts that are overkill. I'm sure he is fairly knowledgeable though.

■The CX600 is bad, but it should be able to power up your system.
■There is no problem with the pci express 2.0 slot bottlenecking the GPU, the problem will be with your CPU, and you cant overclock it since you have a weak motherboard and PSU.
■As long as you have good airflow in your case there should not be any problem.

Better moving off to intel. A 9590 only brings marginally more performance at the cost of MORE power, MORE heat, MORE exotic cooling. That means you'd need a new PSU and Motherboard if you wanted a 9590.

Look into an h97 board and a Xeon 1231v3.

The 9590 is a joke, you need an expensive motherboard and water cooling to get it running, and all that costs more than a i7/xeon and a h97 board, and the latter will perform better. Save some money and switch to intel later.

ok at the moment im mainly worrying about the power supply i forgot to mention it is classifed 980 Ti, As one of my more inclined freinds told me i would need a power supply that would provide clean power to the gpu and i would need atleast 1000 watts he also said that there where no high wattage clean power PSU's he had knowledge of the only issue is is at max I can spend £150 $223.51, On a new power supply.
