I have a Samsung R20 laptop with an ATI SB600 south bridge which has this problem:
In the past, the audio card was "working", its output was a lot of noise with the audio that was being played at the computer as a background sound with some intervals which were just noise.
Now my computer just does not detect the sound card from any O.S.
On the other hand, I though that since I have an USB card that is a "solvable issue", but it does the same but with much more noise and without the "muted intervals", it just plays a strong noise being the music so hard to perceive.
That is not the only problem that this laptop has at the USB ports. Sometimes, when you plug a mouse in, it stops working and you have to disconnect it and reconnect it again.
Probably the weird thing is that flash memories are working perfectly on it.
I think it is a hardware failure since it does the same in Windows XP, 7 and Debian Jessie.
How do you think it could be fixed?
