Will my CPU be hindered by my GPU?

I just upgraded my graphics card to a Sapphire Nitro R9 380 that I should be receiving today. I upgraded to a 4k TV. My question is whether or not my CPU and GPU work together well. This is actually my second upgrade to graphics since I built the system almost 3 years ago, and I haven't touched anything else (other than adding an SSD).

Edit - Forgot to mention this is a for gaming. Got back into Skyrim a few weeks ago, if an example would help.

My current set up besides that is:

(+2 other storage drives just for media/games)

Thank you.

You will not suffer anything that you described.

Sure, a new Skylake CPU will bring you some (as in few) more FPS, but that is only because the CPU performs better, not because your current CPU is too weak to feed the video card.

I haven't followed much about the newer Intel chips since IvyBridge, have they made any major changing in the last couple generations, or just enough to mark them as new and be a bit more efficient per dollar?

Mainly asking that out of curiosity, don't need to get too deep since it's off-topic...

@Slovenia rulez

That is not overclocking capabilities. That is architectural improvement compared to MHz to negate the architectural improvement itself. I doubt that if i talk about IPCs broken down by numbers of simple functions per cycle you would understand much. MHz is something much easier to be understood by casual people.

I adjust my answers to fit the question of the op of the thread. That is what this forum is all about.

What I used is the most widely applied explanation on all tech forums. It is not just me using that model of explanation.
