Hello,
Having fun rebuilding old HP pavilion 512w machine. It has a bootlegged version of 98se on it. My problem is getting some basic drivers. It has a built in nic card on the motherboard and 4 usb ports and an old cd-rom drive. I do have an external usb blu-ray too. The computer sees all the devices with the typical ? mark indicating a driver problem. I am simply building this machine for some older games. These are my problems.

1- cd drive cannot read anything but cd-r disks. I do not have any more on hand (only dvd-rw)
2-The 32 gig thumb drive is recognized, but the driver is missing
3-then built in nic works, but is missing driver (it did work prior on winxp)

The machine did work fine with windows xp on it. But after the rebuld to 98se, I lost all the drivers in the process and the 98se disk does not seem to have them. I have tried every generic one from the disk to no avail.

So, what can I do at this point? Is my only option to go to the dollar store and get a few more cd-r disks to hopefully get the correct drivers on a disk? And who is to say if they would work after going through that process. Any tips are appreciated.
Thanks
