970 or 390?

Are these cards equall performance? And which card would work best with my psu?

Both will work with your psu. The gtx 970 will perform better at 1080p and the 390 will perform better at 1440p.

390 is cheaper and a better alternative. a 620w psu will do it just fine considering it's a seasonic! Have fun!

The cards are on the same performance tier in tom's graphics card hierarchy list.
GTX970 will require about 75w less.

Seasonic is excellent and has enough extra to handle either card.

Go for the R9 390 considering that you have the psu to handle it. It is an overall better option given your situation.
