Hello all,

I'm building a computer for the first time and have become bit lost. I'm looking to run a Intel Core i7 6700K Processor and ASRock Z97 Extreme6 motherboard, and am not sure exactly how much power I would need nor what supply unit could reliably provide it for a reasonable cost. Reccomendations? (If I'm missing and needed information, my apologies, I'll post it as requested, it's my first time).

Hi Brian,

perhaps this calculator could help you: http://images10.newegg.com/BizIntell/tool/psucalc/index.html?name=Power-Supply-Wattage-Calculator

Personally I have used my graphics card to gauge the power supply I need. I check the system requirements when looking at a graphics card and check the recommended PSU. I always shoot for higher. For example I am using a GTX 970 which requires atleast 500w. I have an 850w power supply and that is also just in case I upgrade in the future.

I hope this helps.
