Hi all!!

Looking to build a PC in a week or so but I soon realized the Canadian $ is absolute shite. The graphics card i wanted is now 100$ more or so.

I would like to spend less than 1200$ CDN on a good PC.

Here's what i was planning on :
i5 4690k
MSI 970 gtx
1TB Harddrive
Small SSD (just for OS)
MSI gaming 7 motherboard
8bg ripjaws
Best bang-for-buck 650W PS

I will not be OCing any time soon, but maybe some cheap cooling would be a good idea. This will be my first build ever. Please help me out! Find me the best parts for the lowest money, you;re going to have to use Canadian websites; ie Amazon.ca and Newegg.ca so i get the prices in CDN $.

Thanks all!
Justin

Yeah the Canadian dollar hit an all-time low this Thursday. 1 US dollar is now $1.40 CAD. A week ago it was $1.33 and steady at that for a while then BAM.

So for your build I would be looking at a motherboard that isn't made by MSI. Many people have quality assurance issues with their board and their is no point buying one if there are better options from ASUS and Gigabyte on the market. The MSI Gaming 7 is currently $220 CAD so I would suggest going something that's less expensive but still looks neat.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($298.15 @ Vuugo)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard...

It's seriously amazing how much all of these prices are right now in comparison to a week ago haha.

When possible avoid using ShopRBC, Vuugo, and Canada Computers. And don't change the PSU without asking me because the amount of garbage ones out there is immense.

Forgot to say thanks for that! Going to be purchasing all of that in a couple days. One problem though; The PSU. It went up in price or something, i cannot find it anymore. Any other "good" PSU you would recommend that is relatively cheap?

Cheers
