CPU temperature question

So I have a AMD FX-6350 at 4.35ghz. I have a aftermarket fan with lots of case airflow and a blower gpu. When opening AIDA64 while the cpu is at full load from rendering video I checked the cpu temps. The CPU temp is 77c but the cores are around 45c. Which one should I go by? I know the suggested temps are around 65-70c for this cpu but I am not sure if that is for the CPU temp or the core temp. Which one should I go off of? I was wondering because I wanted to know if my overclock is alright or if I can up the voltage and go higher.

I'm willing to bet that you should go off of your 77c result, as most air coolers probably can't handle an fx-6350 at that speed. As for pushing further, as long as you're stable where you're sitting now, and that temp doesn't bother you I don't see any reason you can't keep that overclock. If that temp is a bit high for your liking I would personally try backing off 100-150mhz or trying to lower your voltage. Whatever you do, just make sure it's stable, in the end that temp shouldn't make the cpu degrade.
