2gb vram enough for 900p with gtx 960?

I have recently bought a asus strix gtx 960 2gb. I actually planned to get a gtx 950 but then managed to rais the budget a bit and get the 960 so it wasn't possible to get the 4gb version.
I was wondering if it will be sufficient for my 900p monitor. And as it is a gtx 960, I am not planning to max out anything ever. Will be happy just to be able to play at hight or med-high mix.

Another thing, I've heared that if in a game the video memory requirement exceeds the graphics card vram, then the extra memory is fetched from the main ram of the computer. Is it true?

I am pretty sure that 2gb should be enough for a 900p monitor. In general, the 960 is better for 1080p gaming rather than lower settings, so you should be sure.

And about the RAM and VRAM, I'm pretty sure that it cannot do that, as the motherboard, RAM, and GPU function separatly.

At 900p 2gb should be enough. Except that silly Unity maybe :lol:

As for the other question in general it was like that. But i imagine driver will try to optimize local VRAM usage as much as possible first before 'borrowing' system RAM. And it seems win10 handle this stuff better than win 7.
