Hello, I'm currently upgrading my old gpu (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02681290) <-- this is my current pc. To a GTX 970 or though I have been told I would need to upgrade my PSU in order for the GTX 970 to work. So what cost effective and not to exspensive PSU from this list preferably since I live in AUS and I wont have to pay for delivery (http://www.austin.net.au/shop-categories/psu.html) what would work? Thankyou experts!

I am considering the following. (http://www.austin.net.au/corsair-vs650-650w-atx-power-supply.html) This one seems good and was recommended by Skywalker and I would rather not spend anymore than that and I wont be upgrading my gtx 970 for a long time but how much better is something such as (http://www.austin.net.au/corsair-cx-600m-600w-modular-atx-power-supply.html) or this (http://www.austin.net.au/corsair-cs550m-550w-semi-modular-atx-80-gold.html) the 80 gold thing seems good but I dont know.

In Australia you might want to look at the Antec HCG series, about the right amount of wattage for the right amount of price and solid psu's.The 520watt woul;d already be fine.
The cooler master "V"series is a good one, semi modular and good quality, the "GM" series is imo also a decent choice when on a budget.

I already gave other options, not just for the sake of it.This one is a bad idea imo.
Look at this one for just abit more,
http://cplonline.com.au/power-supply/antec-high-current-gamer-520w-modular-hcg-520m.html
if you're really worried about budget should this one be better than the corsair,
http://www.centrecom.com.au/antec-neo-520w-eco-80-bronze-power-supply
but the Antec HCG is the best choice.
Another choice for the same price as the Corsair,

You don't need 650watt for the gtx 970 so don't worry about the wattages i chose.
