Hello everyone, a few days ago i updated my drivers to the latest AMD driver the crimson driver and since then i have FPS drops in a few games, I didnt had those FPS drops when i had the catalyst driver.
For example, In Fallout 4 i have FPS drops indoors with the crimson driver, and on GTA V when i enter the game it stutters badly, but when i minimize the game and go back again it stops.
I have a R9 390, and I really want to know why all those FPS drops happen because i saw that the new driver improves performance.
Thanks :)

Make sure you do clean uninstalls of your Drivers if you update or rollback:

If you have graphics or driver issues, one of the most common fixes is a clean uninstall and removal of your graphics drivers.

To uninstall your drivers, first download and run Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow it's recommendations of booting into safe mode and ect.
(This is a direct download link so you don't grab the wrong version)
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

You'll download a compressed file called "[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip"
Right click and choose extract.
Go into the folder and run the DDU v##.##.exe
This will extract more files to this folder.
Run Display Driver Uninstaller.exe
Choose Yes when it asks...
well if you read the foot notes of each driver and see under known issues of this one

Known Issues
''◾[82779] Fallout 4 - Gameplay may be choppy in AMD Freesync™ mode in Ultra mode at 1440p resolution

Resolved Issues
82645] Fallout 4 - The compass may flicker during gameplay on AMD Radeon R9 390 series products. We continue to investigate

now with that how else can/will that game be affected ?? cause it looks like it one there working on to make better and still may not be perfect ??

Well im not playing on 1440p resolution im playing on 1080p resolution, and its not only that the compass flickers, i have major FPS drops inside a building and outside like in the city of boston itself, but as I said the driver affects not only on fallout but on other games of mine like GTA V .

what I'm saying is those fixes may now affect to what you got now in some way . kinda like we fixed this but now that's damaged.

uninstall it and go back to the driver that worked the best - just because its a new driver don't mean its a better driver for your needs

I still run 13.12 on this 7000 card cause the newer ones suck

Well if thats the best solution till now, i guess that i will reverse to my older driver.

ya, I tried all the newer drivers over 13.12 and seemed all ways somthings up with them that I never see or get with the 13.12 - like black screening with them for one ? shuttering so on - so I junk them and go right back to 13.12 and all is good 24/7 with out issue ??

I was a AMD fan boy but now I'm running intel for the first time in 15 years and with the cards I see after this one fails me in some way I have to replace it its going to be NVidia [not to say with out doing it, its going to be better] at least NVidia gives support

AMD has just let me down all around these days [sad ] I think there hardware is good but the support is lacking and getting too proprietary

look these over ??

After you've rebooted into safe mode.
When DDU comes up, if it hasn't selected your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) then choose it from the drop down list
Press the Clean and Restart option
If a window comes up asking to disable the Windows automatic installation of display drivers click yes.

After (or before removing the old drivers, just put the new ones on the desktop or somewhere handy) rebooting back into Windows, manually download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD, don't use auto detect, choose you GPU model and OS from the drop down lists.

It's not crazy, it's common. The companies really don't do a good enough job, DDU regularly fixes many peoples problems.
