I recently changed my setup and had to move my computer a couple feet. When I went to play a game on my pc, I noticed the audio or mic did not work. I have a Razer Kraken Pro headset that worked great. The cord fed to a y splitter to connect to the pc. The thing is is that when I fully plug in the 2 splitter cables, I only get sound in the right ear and the mic barely works. If I leave out the sound cord, I get no sound but the mic works. If I leave the sound cord in but halfway take out the mic, I can hear in both ears, the mic shows up, but the mic doesnt work well. Any ideas on what is going on?

Solution
Try the other connection on the computer (rear/front) and see if it does the same thing in either one. If it worked fine before the move, pretty clear something got yanked/bent/damaged physically. The part-way sound working points to a jack issue where it does not make good contact with the connections. Try a different splitter, or try cleaning the cable with some contact cleaner. A bit of contact cleaner in the jack may help but that could be a bit dangerous as it may leak and hurt something else.
