I have a couple of networks showing up on the network section in the file explorer. One of them, it MASONS-PC, which I know what that is so it's fine. But the other two I don't know, one of them is CE-LINUX I think, (it's not showing up yet anymore for some reason) and the second one that I got today and I do not know where it is from, is NERD-VILLAGE. I don't know where it came from yet, nothing on the internet helps and when I click on it, it shows enter network password. What is it and how can I get rid of it? If I right click nothing really shows.

Thanks in advance!

If you have unrecognized devices on your network, I'm going to assume that your WiFi isn't secure and they're neighbors. The reason it shows enter network password is that the other device has a password for network browsing (from file explorer, this would imply the SMB protocol). It's possible CE-LINUX was your router, but this looks like you're referring to devices on your network that you don't recognize. Is it possible someone else in your house had given the WiFi password to a guest and you're seeing the guest's devices?

I don't know. MASONS-PC has always been there but NERD-VILLAGE has come up today and CE-LINUX (or whatever it was) has disappeared after I restarted my PC.

I don't know. CE-LINUX being my router? The WI-FI has a guest and home password and we never give anyone the normal one, just the guest.

Well...that SSID didn't just appear out of thin air.
OK...kind of it did.

You'd be surprised at what your neighbors, or their kids, do with a WiFi.

When you say neighbors, how far neighbors? Next door or up to 3 houses away?! My neighbors don't even have kids and are waaay to old to be running a NERD-VILLAGE. All I care is that this is nothing serious happening to my PC.

Why would my neighbors (and how) be connecting to my Wi-Fi? Everyone has their own.

It has crappy passwords. But nothing the average joe would guess. Meaning, the password is so simple that anyone with common sense wouldn't type it in, because no one would make it their password in the first place.
But yes, secure enough.

A former neighbor of mine had a Toshiba laptop.
They had Verizon DSL.
Her laptop was connecting to the neighbors unsecured WiFi. She was 100% convinced that it was NOT connecting to the neighbors, but rather getting internet from the "satellite".
Why? Because it was a Toshiba Satellite laptop.
"No, Shannon....your laptop is talking to that guys house over there."

How secured is your WiFi?

Now that I think of it. It probably isn't secured at all. I mean like, what security do I need in a neighborhood were everyone's house if more then 20 feet apart and no one drives by looking for free Wi-Fi. There'e a Tim Horton's close by that offers free wi-fi. Our password to the internet is literally Password. But who will get that!?
