laptop specs : i7-4710HQ , GTx 860m, 16GB RAM, Windows 10, 64 bit . ( i have nvidia geforce experience/control panel if that matters)

So i am a constant League of legends and black ops 3 player. I play with a monitor hooked up, and yesterday i disconnected it from the monitor and use the laptop , as a laptop. and thats when everything just started to fail.

I try to run game, but after it loads, the game freezes and my laptop is uncontrollable. I have also noticed, the game settings I usually run on it has completely changed (such as the video quality, fps, the option of borderless/windowed/full has all changed which was odd for me). I have always had a constant 60 fps when i play, but for the split second i get to play it, it shows 200+ fps which amazed me. The loading time for the game also has slower speeds than usual, so i know something is up.

I usually dont update my graphics card because it crashes my black ops 3, so i stick to the 35887 drivers for this card. I have tried updating it and see if everything is fine, but it still freezes.

I have done a virus scan, cleanup, windows update, system restore still nothing.

Me disconnecting the laptop from my monitor triggered these failures in some way, but i have no idea how to get it back or what happend . Also i noticed my browser url size for google chrome is alot smaller than before.

any ideas? please and thank you

Have you overclocked your GPU? This can cause it to get overheated and eventually freeze up, you should never overclock a laptop, if you have, restore all clocks on it and then run the game(s) again.
