Hardware:
MSI z97 Gaming 5
evga GTX 980 ti

Previously computer booted fine with a gtx 460 on this semi-new build. Swapped it out to a 980 ti today. Now the MOBO boots with no error code, the Video Card lights up, but I'm not getting any sort of video/bios on my plugged-in screen. Help? Thoughts?

Edit: I did want to mention that the fans spin for maybe a half-second then stop spinning right after. The card stays powered the whole time. I don't know if this is normal behavior or a sign that I plugged in power cables incorrectly.

I'm able to see the screen, but I can't install the drivers. It says "No compatible hardware has been detected."

Exactly correct.

I just finished updating the z97 to the latest BIOS version, no change. The BIOS when booting does hang on the initialization before the bios - "A2" is the code, according to the manual it's just early cpu initialization. The card is still lit up, but it cannot detect it through windows.

I seemed to have fixed my issue: I had a 2x6 -> 1x8 Connector plugged in alongside the 6+2 connector. I swapped to two 6+2 connectors and the issue is resolved. Thanks for your help Gimly; hopefully anyone else with this problem didn't make my stupid mistake.
