5800 isn't clear but even the 5870 is the same tier. But the 750ti uses a fraction of the power so will also be much cooler. It also supports dx12 and it better optimized for recent games.

The 750Ti isn't an old card, it's a current generation Nvidia Maxwell based card. It's definitely the better of the 2.
