I have a 1600mhz 8gb ram but my motherboard and processor only support 1333mhz i thought my motherboard would underclock it automatically but it doesnt.... Is there a way to manually underclock ram or something? I have a dx4840 motherboard and a i3 550

so you are saying i should upgrade my psu

Ram specs have nothing to do with the psu.
Back to your original post.
What exactly is your problem?

Do you already have some ram that is not working properly?
Test with memtest86+
Speed is irrelevant to performance with intel processors, so do not sweat that.

Or, are you looking to upgrade your ram?
Go to the ram web site and access their ram selection app.
Enter your motherboard and you will get a list of their compatible ram.
You want supported ram, others might work, but you are on your own there.

I tested with memtest and it works perfectly when I use only the new ones my system doesn't boot and if I use the new ones with my old one I get bsod. I've check cordair and the ram I got isn't on the list when I enter the motherboard I'm trying to upgrade ram

If the new ram is corsair, contact their customer support.
If there is anything to be done they can help.
If the ram is incompatible, they can advise you.
Not all ram will work, there are different internal constructions that might make some ram not work with some motherboards.
That is why you should find out about compatibility BEFORE you buy.
