recently had an issue , i pluged in a molex . bought from amazon brand new , and my power supply shut down ax1200i corsair , doing so it shorted a chip on my asus maximus v extreme . i contacted corsair , told then issue they started RMA, and told me they would warranty mother board if damaged , great . i thought but too good to be true , so i did not count on them . i notified asus of issue they sent out RMA . keep in mind i had to show proof of purchase and mobo was purchased e bay used , they still honored there manufacturer warranty..
ax 1200 was RMA just in september and it took them over a month to get to me , which they gave me a new one . but now they are telling me they can not do anything for me due to the fact i bought it on e bay as well . But two months ago it was ok to return but now its not . so they are just full of it .why would you honer it using same receipt but now they will not .any how it is working .and i do not want to wait or go with out after waiting two month with out power supply . but disappointed in how they turned their back . on me , so i can not trust or count on them any more , P C parts are costly and they are only as good as the company behind them .

So... You plugged in something with a Molex you bought from Amazon. While your PSU was on. You shorted something. And it shut down like it's supposed to?

2nd you bought it from eBay so you probably had no warranty. But warranties only cover manufacturers defects. Since they bothered to do an RMA they most likely tested it, found there was no manufacturer defect and you shorted it, and denied the warranty since you bought it on eBay. Nothing wrong with that. Warranties don't cover user error

E bay and PayPal do have protection on purchase items with out getting into that topic.is when I had issue with this power supply back in September i did show the same recite from e bay .they did honer it and shipped me a new ax1200.so this new power supply had a issue which caused damage to mobo.and suddenly now they don't recognize as a purchase and response was to notify place of purchase to Handel issue. A clear railroad of all responsibility .although Asus regardless of were purchased honered there warrenty. The warranty on Ax1200 is 7 years this is only year old..they should honer there 7 year wa4enty regardless if I bought it from friend or gift .
