my AMD AVC cooler fan that I had has started to wear out, getting significantly louder and having a loud whine. It got on my nerves so I pulled it out and put a crappy stock heatsink in there for now. I took the fan off of the actual heatsink, because the heatsink itself is still in really good shape with 4 copper heat pipes. I was wondering if i could just use the fan from an old cooler thats not originally made to be compatible with it? Like Macgyver it and use zip ties to hold on a really nice fan? I feel like I saw something like this on Linus Tech Tips, but iI thought i'd ask you guys first. Thanks

System Build:
AMD FX-6300
R9 270 OC'd
8 gigs of ram

How are the temps since you swapped the heatsink out. Dude for 30 bucks or so a hyper evo rather than jerry rigging something lol

If you find a fan with similar or better characteristics and size you should be able to change to it. If that particular cooler was adequate till now.
