total available graphics memory : 14305 MB
dedicated grapics memory: 2048 MB
system video memory: 0 MB
shared system memory: 12257 MB

little confused, all games i play on my pc i try keep under 2gb of vram,
but i just noticed this...
does the 14 GB of total available graphics memory mean i have 14gb of vram to work with?

meaning i can put my games on ultra?

Solution

VRAM = Video Ram. You use it already, that's the dedicated video ram, GPUs own ram.
You cant control how much Shared memory your GPU can use.

Total available graphics memory : 14305 MB is the amount of VRAM + Shared RAM.

- Shared system memory: basically the operating system shares its slower RAM in the motherboard DIMM slots with the graphics chip or more simple, OS shares some of your on-board ram with your Video Card.
- Dedicated graphics memory( VRAM ): the graphic hardware has memory only it can use.-...

Shared Memory Performance <<< x times <<< VRAM.

You can't control Shared Ram. Your OS does that. Also Dedicated video ram performance is way greater than shared ram.
What happens is that when your Video card ram(VRAM for short) is full, it starts to use Shared Memory, until some VRAM is freed.
Basically if your VRAM is full most of the time and you experience game stuttering, you need better Video Card with more VRAM, since Shared Ram cant compensate for VRAM.
You can always put your games on ULTRA, but that most likely wont result in smooth play if your GPU can't handle it, be it not strong enough to calculate it or the need of more VRAM.
