Greetings!

I am considering to sell my old desktop either as a whole config or its components separately, but I am quite unfamiliar with the how things work on the 2nd hand hardware scene. I am posting the system's specs with a humble request for you guys to enlighten me how much I could get (as a reasonable maximum) if I were to sell my rig.

CPU: QuadCore Intel Core i5-3570K, 3600 MHz
MOTHERBOARD: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (2 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN)
RAM: 2x 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM
GPU: ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7870 2 GB
HARD: Seagate (1000 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-III)
SSD: ADATA SX910 (SATA-III) 128 GB
PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 700W
CASE: COOLER MASTER Elite 431 Plus

I apologize if I am breaking any forum rules or posting in the wrong section. I am just trying to gather thoughts and opinions of people who know their stuff. I am not promoting my PC either.

Thank you for your time and happy winter holidays! :)

The $700 estimate is way off, for a 3 year old system, even a gaming grade one, likely half of what it was when new, at most. The price would have to be pretty well under what a new system of similar speeds would cost for anyone to take the risk on failure in the components.
I would imagine the kind of people who buy second-hand components are those who are self-builders and aren't concerned about warranties because they can identify and fix problems themselves.

Your CPU and motherboard are great, but the rest of the build is pretty average, so I think you'd be best off selling the individual components.

I was going off of some of the used prices from Amazon, and the GPU was being sold for around $200 used, and $450 new, which I should've realised was ridiculous and is where I mainly hit that price bump. Redoing the math and not being that lenient with the prices some people like to put on their GPU, about half would be right, yeah. But again, as stated before, that is assuming people want the full system. It usually is better to sell off individual parts, especially if you advertise it on here. Could find some people who want it all together though.

Used parts on Amazon and ebay are usually well over what someone would pay. You can find 10 year old video cards on Amazon for the same price they where when new and I see people use that as comparisons when they sell their used parts at huge prices. I sell quite a bit of computer systems and some parts on ebay and craigslist, if you want the parts or computer to sell, it better be a good chunk cheaper than when new. Once you see someone list a GT 610 for $60 on craigslist because they found a 610 on Amazon for $120 from someone is when you really start to look into the "real" selling prices you can get for something. Sure, it's a 50% discount over Amazon prices, but it's 3 times over what a 610 should be worth.

Yeah, I rechecked the price for when they first came out, around $200, and I have no idea why I disregarded that at the moment. So when they were being sold for over that used, I don't know why I wasn't like "Oh, that's god damn outrageous". I can't believe some people are trying to sell them new for twice the original price. I mean, the 7850 is selling new still in box about $50 below its original price, so why would people think a slightly higher card would be worth almost three times as much? It's ridiculous.

Thank you guys for your time and help, it's much appreciated! I believe it will be more reasonable for me to sell the individual components instead of trying to force the whole config upon someone. :) If I were to do that however, do you think 400$ would be too much for this old rig?
