Will a CPU upgrade give me boost in games?

Hello!

First of all, I'm not a computer expert. I currently have an AMD FX-6100. I want to upgrade it to an Intel I5-6600K and i was wondering if it will give me a noticeable FPS boost in my games. I don't want to waste a lot of money on a tiny performace increase.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 4GB
RAM: 8GB
Hard drive: Seagate ST500DM002-1BD142 (465 GB)

It will depend heavily on the game, but it should be a noticeable improvement. Not all games are equal, and some care way more about the CPU than others. Especially since it's 2x as powerful as your current CPU. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-vs-AMD-FX-6100/3503vs1984

In windows task manager you can see how hard your CPU is working.
If it is up near 100% when running a game, you need a faster CPU.
If it isn't, you don't

Not necesarily true. Very few games can actually use 100% of a 6-core CPU, since they can only talk to 1 or 2 cores at most.

I think that A fx-6100 is very sufficient in gaming, and with the 6 cores u kinda have more time before you uprgrade because not many games require more than 4 cores, so you have time before that happens
