Do I need to peel the paper off the RAM stick to use it?

Pretty self explanatory. Was gifted a ram upgrade, wasn't sure if I need to peel off the label to use it. Figure better safe than sorry.

Yes, always take the packaging off before you use any component.

No, it will be fine. Have a few sticks with labels still on, in fact. It will decrease thermal performance a bit but RAM generates very little heat these days.

Well, if it is a label. If it is actual packaging, it needs to be removed.

If you're referring to the little white sticker on the side, then no, it can stay on there. If it's some kind of packaging that covers the gold pins on the long end, then yes, remove that before inserting it into your motherboard.

Those stickers are nice to have to remember what kind of ram you had initially. If you ever had to replace them.

Plus most of those stickers say "Warranty void if removed" so you'd be on your own if anything goes wrong with them.

Definitely just leave them on.
