If I upgraded to windows 10 from a PC running windows 7 will the windows 7 key be able to be used again? Does upgrading to windows 10 deactivate the windows 7 key?
The Windows 7 license will be consumed by the upgrade and cannot be reused. In addition, the free Windows 10 upgrade cannot be transferred to another computer.

I'd also think a bit before upgrading. I upgraded my gaming system to Win10 and there are some things I really like (boots up in seconds) but it's not as stable as Win7... I've had this machine for almost a year and Win7 never BSD'd... Win10 has twice in 2 weeks, and there were no hardware changes just the OS change.

I know windows 10 is a horrible piece of garbage. The reason I ask this is because I had windows 7 then upgraded to windows 10 then formatted my hard drive and re installed windows 7 with the key from the dvd box. My friend has windows 10 and he upgraded from windows 7 and I was wanting to use his key for another PC with windows 7. Unless it was because I didn't change my motherboard but I am using his motherboard he used with 7 and he upgraded to 10 with a different mobo so it might work.
