That is unpleasant.
The fact that the drive is not recognized by Disk Management, could indicated that the HDD inside is not recognized. Basically, this could be caused by faulty cable/enclosure/HDD.
So, you can start with using a different USB cable. You can even attach the drive to another system.
In case the issue persists, and the drive is not recognized by Disk Management, you have several options:
- Just RMA the drive in case it is under warranty. You can contact the manufacturer's Support on that.
- You could consider what Barty1884 suggested. Yet, you need to keep in mind that this will void the warranty if under any. Also, it may not work in case the drive has proprietary connectors as well as hardware encryption.
- If you have crucial data stored on the drive, you will need to contact a data recovery company.
