logitech g502 gaming mouse

hello i recently purchased the g502 logitech gaming mouse. id like to remap the some of the buttons on it so it changes songs on my windows media player. ive tried to remap this in the software does anyone have a solution to this?

If you have the logitech software for G series mice, you can just assign functions right there in the software. What you are looking for is "media keys", which are in a different section than the regular binding option.

ive done that but no matter which button i choose to remap the media keys to on the mouse it doesnt change them.

Did you read the manual for the software? It seems like user error but can't confirm that without actual access.

ok ive read over the manual but it doesnt explain why im changing the function of the keys and they dont seem to be registering. it says the key ive changed will advance the song track, but instead all it does is change the dpi settings. its like the mouse doesnt want to update.

You downloaded the Logitech Gaming Software? If you did do this already can you take a picture of your mouse on the program? Should look like this but with the way your mouse looks. http://puu.sh/m4TjP/09936df049.png

Edit; I'd like to see personally what keys you set and make sure you set them properly.

Just like I thought, user error. You need to find the default profile (list at top with all the games) and set it there. Right now you set it up to change tracks only when using xcom.
