Greetings everyone, I am trying to figure out the process it takes to overclock my gpu.

My Graphics card is : SapphireTech r9 380 nirtro

my other specs are : AMD FX 8320E 8core
700watt power supply
Asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo
16gig of crucial sport ram
after market CPU cooler(coolermaster, cant remember model)

Will I be able to overclock my card with this setup? And also should I use the Catalyst Ctrl Center software in order to overclock?

On catalyst my meters read out on the Graphic overdrive menu as me having
GPU Clock: 984MHz
Mem Clock: 1450MHz
Fan speed: 1353 RPM
(not sure if this is accurate or what the settings would be at if i were to turn on Graphics overdrive)

thanks for any help, and cheers!

Hi

Yes, you will be able to over clock the card, but just be careful, the card is based on the Tahiti core, so it will get VERY hot, but the Nitro series from sapphire seems to have quite a nice cooler, and its usually well built if its sapphire. You would also be able to overclock your CPU, as I have the Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0, and there isn't much difference.

Oh, I'm sorry about missing out how to overclock the GPU, you can use catalyst, I'm not sure if crimson supports it, but if you do not use Catalyst, then go for a program such as MSI Afterburner (My Choice) or EVGA Precision
