I'm wondering what this pc can handle. Like what games, frame-rate, max settings?

Intel i7 4790 Quad Core
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB
Kingston HyperX 16 GB RAM
1 TB HDD
Asus H97M-E
750W PSU
NO SSD (YET)

Thanks for replying!

Solution

To answer your question, Yes it can.
Most non-reference GPUs are factory overclocked, and you will get better cooling efficiency.

the only downside of using the original reference Nvidia GPU would be the cooling (Yes the stock cooler sucks a bit)

that processor has enough power to run any current gen game with the exception of badly optimized games which are inevitable

Here's a link for your reference
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_970_Gaming/

Select the game from the dropdown menu on the bottom to see how much fps you'll get.

hope this helps

(Copied from > http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2311513/evga-msi-gigabyte-asus-gtx-970.html)

Gigabyte
+ coolest on full load, has backplate, OC the best, has LED logo if you fancy stuff like that
- the longest of them all, bit more noisier, no fan-stop technology, more expensive than other 2, rumours about seaizing fans on previous windforce coolers, ugly (subjective opinion :)

ASUS
+ backplate, fan-stop technology, nice look, quiet, metal shroud around fans
- single 8 pin connector (can be advantage for other, though), worse OC of them all, also the slowest of those 3 in tests, VRMs are exposed and more prone to overheating

MSI
+ TwinFrozr cooler , fan-stop technlolgy, quieter and cooler than ASUS, OC capability (better than ASUS, tad worse than GIG), LED dragon&MSI logo (if somebody fancies that, also you can programme its behaviour from desktop), VRMs are heatsinked, just purely beautiful (subjective :) , cheapest of them 3
- no backplate, plastic fan shroud (although really it doesnt mean much, heatsink and heatpipes are MUCH better than in previous TF4 so shroud is more like cosmetc feature)

That is the original reference card made by Nvidia which LACKS THESE FEATURES (Hence non-reference ASUS/MSI/EVGA etc are made for better cooling and overclocking potential)

Over clocking potential on a non reference is leaps and bounds better then on a reference. This is due to very good coolers
Non reference come with high factory overclocks, too take error out of your overclocking
Non reference cards come with higher quality parts and more VRAM

I'm not planning to overclock. Does it still matter what video card I'm taking then. I just wanna know if the nvidia gtx 970 4gb can run every game maxed out with 30-60 fps ore more on 1080p. Can it?
