There a few things I would really like help deciding on:
-i5 4690k or i7 4790k? Are there any distinguishable differences between the two if I'm just looking to have a great gaming experience on ultra settings (1080p, 60fps or higher) and not planning to do any video editing/3D rendering?
-Case: How is the cable management, noise, and temperature in the Fractal R4 I have selected? Are there other cases that you know of that offer those 3 things?
-GPU: Feeling the 970 I have chosen, but many suggest the R9 390 for its 8GB VRAM.
-Fan: I would really like to keep the noise to a minimum, but a louder one is fine if the case helps mitigate noise
-Motherboard: I don't know how to choose the right motherboard.
Any and all advice that can be given is greatly appreciated. Can't wait to order everything and begin building!

8gb vram is pointless unless 4k and then the vram won't be your bottleneck so 970 is the better choice. The i7 is again pointless if the highest stress will be gaming, i5 is a better solutioon. Motherboard is fine since its a Z97, allowing overclocks. You might consider a different cooler, best cooling + noise ration for an air cooler which does not cost a shitload is Noctua NH-D14. The Define R4 is one of the coolest-operating and quietest-running cases out there so that's a great choice, cable management is as good as any I would say.

-if you arent doing video editing or rendering then the i5 will be fine.
-I personally own the fractal design r4 and i give it a massive thumbs up; it's quiet as a mouse and the cable management is excellent!
-what resolution are you running? extra vram is only helpful on higher res. if you are running 1920x1080 then the 970 will look amazing and you will get solid fps.
-general rule with fans are bigger it is the quieter it is, also the sound dampening on the r4 is solid so you should be fine.
-with the motherboard i personally am a fan of asus mb's because of their support for overclocking. maybe check out gigabyte mb's i think the one youve chosen is optimized for amd graphics...not sure tho haha. just be sure to get the right cpu for the socket that is on your motherboard and ram that fits :)

-side note if you are doing online gaming then dont worry about the wireless adaptor, just use ethernet cable. wifi is for scrubs :p

hope ive helped!

there are already games requiring 6+GBs of VRAM for their highest settings and larger hi-res texture packages at 1080p so keep that in mind. 970 will be fine with the majority of games out there ~60fps @ 1080p but memory demands are still always increasing. i would definitely recommend an 8GB 390X over the 970 if they are similarly priced, even a 390 if the price is significantly cheaper.

most will claim that with gaming you will get no significant increase with 4790K over 4690K. gaming benchmarks show very little difference.

no Intel motherboard you will be looking at is designed/optimized for "AMD" graphics like jayh has insinuated. so do not let that worry you whichever GPU you decide on.

if you're motherboard does not include wi-fi connectivity it is a good idea to add something like that Gigabyte card. both my TVs are always connected to my PC via wi-fi for wireless streaming. also always have direct wireless access to my laptop and other devices.
