Well I recently tried downloading a movie from a rar file off Google docs and I am pretty sure it infected me with a nasty virus. I got advertisements with no browser open. I I did a system restore to a couple days ago and it didn't fix it. So I tried to run it in safe mode from the search bar and when I restart it I now don't get a complete log in screen. It won't display the actual login area where I enter my password. The only options are shutdown/restart and ease of access.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would like to reinstall windows if possible, but can I with out logging in?

What kind of install media do you have ?

DVD or USB ?

If you can get into your computer with Ease of Access, open the RUN window ( Windows key + R ) & type in netplwiz & press Enter or click OK.

Then uncheck the box in the picture-

This will bypass your need to enter a password.

If you have a DVD you should be able to insert it & restart & press F12 to bring up the boot manager & select the DVD to boot from.
OR- just let it...

OR- just let it try to boot from the DVD automatically.
The same for a usb drive.

You may have to go into the bios & enable the boot menu to get the F12 key to work.
Maybe even set the first boot device to DVD or usb as needed.

Others may offer better advice. :)
