Which is a better deal so i can game outside of home? A small PC which i can game on with the Shield Portable, or a Laptop where i can sit at a desk and play?

Wow, good question.

What games do you play?

Screen size doesn't seem to be the issue just the gaming experience itself.

And I suppose the budget is around $1000/$1200ish.

With either you are going to have to plug in to play because the laptop battery won't last either.

The horsepower and expandability of the desktop unit is a point in its favor but for portability
and use for other things means it has an accessory bundle to carry around too.

You are correct. the budget is $1098 and CANNOT be 1 dollar more. If i pay $1 more its out of my budget.

I might go with the Laptop because It has a built in monitor/screen.
And yes. I will bring the charging cords, earbuds, mouse. I wont bring a heavy big monitor so Alienware might suit my needs.
I already have a vga monitor so its not in the part list.
And the alienware offers Graphic amplifiers which i can buy later. I heard it will boost the heck out of any Alienware Laptop.
