any ideas how to save some money on this?

CASE: Fractal Design Define R5

CPU: i7 4790K

Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition

Graphics Card: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G

RAM: Kingston 2 x 4 GB

cooler: Enermax Liqtech 240

POWER SUPPLY: eVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2

SSD: SanDisk Ultra II Solid State Disk 480 GB

Solution
First off that motherboard is actually poor quality. It is one of the worst performing motherboards in various benchmarks and in games - it's just designed poorly. Lower the power supply to an XFX 550W unit or a Seasonic M12ii 520W. Change the CPU to an I7-4790, and then purchase an H97 motherboard, such as the Asrock H97 Anniversary Edition. Then drop the CPU cooler and use the base one. And change that SSD to a WD 1TB hard drive.

-Change the CPU cooler to the Cryorig H7
-Smaller SSD (250GB) then grab a 1TB HDD
-Change the PSU to the EVGA B2 750W

Depending on if your overclocking or not you could change the CPU to a XEON for 4 cores, 8 threads. If just gaming then a i5-4690K would be fine as well.
