Looking to upgrade my GPU from the AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series, budget is about $300. A bit of a newb here, so I'm a little worried about compatibility with my build. Would really appreciate any suggestions.

I was looking at the MSI Radeon R9 390, and was also thinking about upgrading my RAM to the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB, any thoughts? Am I aiming a bit too high here with the GPU?

I have a 600w PSU, with the following other specs:

CYBERPOWERPC X-Titan Black/Red Full-Tower Gaming Case
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
8GB DDR3 (2x4GB)
Toshiba DT01ACA200
MSI H81M-E33

Well you have a strong CPU so your choice of GPU is wide open. AMD cards consume significantly more power than Nvidia ones in the same class so given your on a 600w PSU I'd be tempted to recommend a GTX970 or 980 over their AMD counterparts. That way you almost guarantee no power issues.

As for more memory....for me 8Gb is enough, yes 16Gb is nice but really I'd save the upgrade cost and throw it at your GPU upgrade.
