Internet Connection Sharing works, but doesn't - at the same time

Hey!
I've been trying recently to connect my Xbox 360 to the Internet.
Since my room has only one ethernet port used by the computer, I thought that making the computer server Internet to the Xbox would be a great idea.
Here's the setup I've tried:
(Home router) -(Ethernet cable)> Windows 10 PC - (USB cable)> USB to ethernet adapter -(Ethernet cable)> Xbox 360
I changed the proper settings in Control Panel to share the connection that the computer receives with the USB to ethernet adapter assisted by the following guide:
http://support.xbox.com/xbox-360/networking/win-computer
(I followed the Internect connection sharing part, not bridging)

I restored the Xbox networking settings to default and tested the connection - And it worked! I can access the internet through my Xbox 360.
But here's the catch - I tried to connect to the online servers of the new Guitar Hero live game, and it constanly refuses to let me in. It claims that there's something wrong with the servers. Meaning, it has some trouble connecting to the internet (it does NOT work..) .

To actually make sure that there was nothing wrong with the servers I changed my setup and got rid of the computer in the middle:
(Home router) -(Ethernet. cable)> Xbox 360
Then I tried to access the game's server - and it finally let me in!

So here's why I'm clueless -

On one hand, the Xbox dashboard is certain that I have a fully operational Internet connection, and indeed I've successfully connected to all the features of Xbox Live.
On the other hand, Guitar hero's servers are unreachable (?) when using this sort of setup.

What could be causing this?
Thank you so much!

Your best bet would be to buy an inexpensive small switch (I recommend THIS ONE. ICS is a pain and a switch will allow a connection when the computer is off.

Attach the switch to the incoming cable on one LAN port and then attach the computer and XBOX to two of the other ports. That will allow each device to be assigned a network address from the router DHCP service.

Well, he're a disappointing update - I tried again using setup 1 with no success as usual, then I replaced ICS with a bridge and again to no avail. Finally I tried again with the 2nd setup that worked before, but somehow that stopped working either, even though it had worked once before. (xbox 360 OS claims there's a good conenction, yet can't find Activision's game servers)
I tried port forwarding, but since it worked before I tried port fowarding I highly doubt that is what causing the problem.

Any ideas/suggestions? I've been restarting Console/Modem and trying different sort of setups for hours... to no avail :/

Thank you!
