Does Astro MixAmp work with any stereo headphones?

Hi, I'm not sure if I posted this in the correct forum but I couldn't find any audio related sections.
My question is, I was wondering if any pair of headphones work with the Astro MixAmp?

I already have a pair of stereo headphones, and from what I see, the Astro headset is also stereo plugged into the MixAmp.

I am mainly looking for that surround sound which is why I am interested in the Astro MixAmp, but I don't want to have to buy another headset if I don't have to.

So my main question is, if I use my current headphones (Sennheiser HD 202), will I be able to still get surround sound by using it with the Astro MixAmp? Or does the surround sound only work when using Astro Headsets?

I have been wondering about this for a while,

Thank you!

If you're talking about the MixAmp Pro TR and the subsequent previous versions then they are supposed to be working in tandem with a headphone of your choice though their recommendation is to pair it with a headset off their shelves.

When you get 5.1/7.1 surround sound while on a stereo setup it's only going to be possible via two routes, either a| there are speakers/drivers physically present within the ear cups to provide true surround or b| the mixamp or other sound device provides virtual surround sound whereby audio is emulated to appear from around you as is the case with the astro mixamp.

That would be correct.
