Got myself a Christmas present: a GTX 980 ti and Windows 10.

Every game I boot up is horribly slow...often taking several minutes to load the title screen, then another 5 to get in-game. The gameplay has slowed to a choppy crawl.

I've ruled out other problems and I'm pretty sure the issue is with my BIOS. I have identified my BIOS as "American Megatrends F14", but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what to put on my DOS flash drive, and how to execute the update.

Can anyone help a BIOS dummy out?

Super slow disk access usually not much to do with your BIOS (or GPU for that matter). It almost sounds a bit like your HDD is no longer operating in DMA mode. I'd check this out before doing anything (I realise it for Win 8, but it will be identical under Win 10):
