Vertical Striped Screen Crash

I have been experiencing some weird problems. My GPU is fine but when I'm under very small load like watching a youtube video bam i all of a sudden get this vertical lined screen that can sometimes be different colors. I have never had this happen when i'm playing hours of a high end game. So I know it is not a heat issue cause when im watching a video gpu runs at like 30-40 degrees celsius.

GPU: MSI r9 270x hawk 2gb
PSU: Seasonic s12ii 520 bronze
Ram: 8GB Crucial Balistik
Mobo: Asus m5a78l usb 3

Sounds like a failing video card, but it's funny that it does not happen in games. Test the card in another system, see if the issue follows the card. If it does, contact MSI for support. If issue does not happen in another computer, test one RAM stick at a time in your system, maybe try a BIOS update on the motherboard, try a different PCIe slot, and a clean Windows setup can't hurt to rule out any software issues.
