Can't get sound to work

Installed drivers, still doesn't work. Drivers were from disc that came with motherboard, and tried latest drivers online also. I have a graphics card installed 6870, connected via dvi to vga. My board is gigabyte Q77M-D2H,

What are your speakers and how are they connected to the motherboard, which coloured audio jacks?

Do you know about audio playback devices menu in Windows? And is the audio you want played selected as default?

I have headphones plugged in. Just generic ones. Tried connecting via front and back jacks (Green). Doesn't show in audio playback. Has nothing displayed.

Fixed. Feel stupid but onboard sound was disabled through bios. Should've checked that first, completely slipped my mind.
