So today I was going to install Windows 7 on my brand New built system. All the parts are brand New. I wanted to install an OS of course so I chose the stable W7. But when I install i get an error Message saying that I don't have the Sata drivers for W7 to be installed on this machine. I get the proper drivers. The W7 installer doesn't detect any drive. I've read up on this subject so I checked up on every bios setting. AHCI mode for the SSD is activated.

I thought this was a hardware rrelated problem but no. Because when I found a stick With Windows 8 it detected my drives with no issues.

So what am I suppost to do? I have tried several different disks With W7. I have tried those disks on other computers they work. The computer is brand New.
And ASUS says on it's webste that this motherboard is fully compatible With Windows 7.

All help is highly apriciated. Merry Xmas

On the Asus, the drive probably will not show up in the BIOS main menu when AHCI is selected, it will only show that the ports are set to AHCI, so look in the boot section of the BIOS, if it isn't in the list then that is a problem but I'd expect the W7 install problem would say "there is no drive" and not that it can't find the drivers. However, try setting to IDE as Outlander_04 mentioned and do the install, W7 is pretty forgiving about changing the system to AHCI after the install - but you will need to download the AHCI drivers from the internet as I don't believe they come with the W7 discs.
