Hi guys!

I have a Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus NP940X3K-K02US laptop. I bought a Samsung m.2 SSD with 500GB of storage because the existing 250GB just wasn't enough. My desktop only has one m.2 slot and I do not know how to clone the ssd like that. I tried to clone the 250GB SSD to a partition in my hard drive before cloning the hard drive copy to the new SSD but it didn't work. I know this is probably the stupidest thing ever to be done but I really am at a loss for what to do now. Can you guys please help me? And is it possible to clone my SSD without buying additional adapters and cables? Thanks guys!

HM! Interesting question, you probably need another computer - clone 250 to external USB-drive, write 500 from other computer, remove 250, insert 500.
Could be som crap about boot sectors and such, depending on what software you use.

Don't know if the built in windows one i any good.

I'd just reinstall on the new drive. A clean install is always good, IMO.

The thing that I did was to create a separate partition on my HDD and then use Macrium Reflect to clone the 250GB to the partition. Then i used the partition from the HDD to clone to the SSD but it doesnt seemed to be able to boot at all. Im trying to clone Windows 10 and the laptop just wouldn't boot up.
Ill just do a clean install then

I just created a restore point and saved it on my drive. I then downloaded windows to my usb and them plugged it into my com. For samsung BIOS access on the laptop model NP940X3K-K02US, you need to press F10. The boot up menu may be too fast so u may wanna already spam F10 before the com is on. Then download windows and use the restore point to install all your files again. That is done already. However, if you want to keep all yor informaion you have to find a drive that is big enough for you.

If the M.2 SSD is SATA III, you can buy an adapter card for $9.00 and using cables, plug it into the 2.5" slot and clone. If PCIe, you can do the same , but you'll need a Desktop with a PCIe Gen 3 mobo.
