I just got a new hitachi 1 terabyte hard disk. I want to clone my hard disk so i can use it as the main hard disk with all the os etc. I'm using acronis trial version. When i clone, i have to reboot. when i get to the boot screen it will show this.

acronis migrate easy

analyzing partitions:
[#####################] 100%
locking partitions:
[#####################] 100%
checking partitions:
[#####################] 33% (it gets stuck at 33%)

(after roughly 30 seconds, this comes on)

acronis migrate easy operation 1 of 5(sometimes 3 of 5)
clearing hard disk: 1

current operation progress:
error: unable to write disk 2 sector XXXXXXXXXXX( retry, ignore, ignore ALL)

p.s. the XXXXXXXXXXX represents numbers

UPDATE:
I used another program, aomei backupper standard. it worked but my 1 terabyte hard disk is now 465 gb like my old one, and it has 465 unallocated space. Can i extend volume and add the unallocated space to the primary partition and still be able to boot from it. is the OS going to be in the system reserved or the primary partition?

I used this program. it worked fine but after it finishes, i suddenly have three local disks. c,h and i. and one system reseved(D). my 1 terabyte hard disk (H) is now only 465 gb like the original one. Is it possible for me to just extend volume.
