xeon 2620 v3 6core 15M Cache or i7 5820K 6core 15M Cache?

Thanks for helping
I'm planning to learn Iray in near future and I was wondering if I could gain more benefit from putting 2xeon 2620 along with one Quadro k4200(4G) rather than having one i7 with 3 GeForce GTX 970(12G total) or I'm wrong

Honestly you'd have to check with people familiar with Iray (I definitely am not). Are you sure that Iray supports SLI? I'm asking because no test performed at http://www.migenius.com/products/nvidia-iray/iray-benchmarks-2015 uses SLI (a reason may be because they used CentOS Linux 7.0). Same here where it clearly says that SLI is not supported: http://www.digisprawl.com/blog/hardware/iray-and-octane-render-for-daz-studio-which-graphics-card-is-best/

Just remeber that SLI isn't supported; people sometimes fail to check before providing advice. You already know the fastest GPU is the GTX Titan X, but they are expensive (though not necessarily more expensive than 3 GTX 970). Having more cards can still help (as explained at the link that I provided), but a single GTX Titan X probably would be faster and it's a great gaming card if you ever want to use it for gaming. I have no clue if a Quadro would be faster or not and I presume this is what you need to find out.

I'm not going to use it for gaming so gaming is out of calculation. I've managed to figure out that most architectural firms use Quadro video cards, I guess it's because they consume less power which means they produce less heat so they could be used for longer hours(mainly reason I'm going for Quadro K series )(13-17 h/day) and that they are made by nvidia itself makes them more reliable than other rivals like GTX .. X series or GTX's.

k4200 but if something happens in next few days and suddenly SLI would be an option I'll go with at least 2*970, then I have to attach a few turbo s around my behind :D

hope I'll face a new problem so I can come ask for your help
