I received a new psu (evga 750 g2 supernova) today along with new ram (16gb hyper x fury)and after installation, all fans etc started spinning and the bios appeared on screen.

The message i was greeted with was 'no boot device detected'. The hard drive was not vibrating whatsoever.

The ram cant be the issue as i replaced them with my old ram, which light up and they seemed to work fine. My dad also checked the volts on the psu and they all checked out to be as they should. (12v 5v and 3v)

The bios shows no sign of a hdd being connected and ive even tried changing sata port & cable too.

Any ideas of what the issue is? My hdd worked fine as far as i am aware before the installation and i didnt even have to move it so i cant imagine that i damaged it.

Any help is apreciated.

Specs:
Amd fx 8350
16gb hyper x fury (2x8gb)
Evga 750 g2 supernova psu
Poworcolor r9 290 4gb
Gigabyte 970a udp3 mobo

I put the harddrive in a completely different system already, with the same result :/

Ok, then i guess the harddrive somehow broke. I'm guessing you have already done this but check if you can see the harddrive in bios, if not then i dont think its likely that you'll be able to get it running again.

Can confirm, the drive is somewhat dead. The chipboard has something that has blown on it. The data is possibly still recoverable if that is replaced.

Does anyone know if the boards can be bought seperately rather than me buying another drive altogether just to take apart? (Wd 1tb blue)

No matter. Purchased same model hdd and will update whether changing the circuit board works, so i can salvage the data. If not, ill have the hdd anyway, the data isnt all that important.
