So my question may get a little sidetracked but essentially I have a PSU with 2x 8-pin connectors that say (PCI Express Graphics 8P connectors) and (+12V2) and I would like to install a second EVGA 460 1GB GPU in SLI, which requires 2x 6pin PCI-e connectors.
From looking up a little it sounds like the 6-pins output up to 75w and the 8-pins up to 150w, so everything seems to make sense, but I'm not that knowledgeable.

Here is what I was going to buy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/321745526723?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

I have relatively old gaming computer:
CPU: i5-750
GPU: GTX 460 1gb
MOBO: P7P55D-LE

I planned on getting another GTX 460 and an SLI cable to run them in SLI due to them being only <$50 now, delaying the inevitable upgrade of a new mobo, cpu and gpu.

Will this work? And what are your thoughts? Thanks.

A very powerful PSU that will never be used at more than 25% of it's rated power; the risk is low and the system is nowhere near current. Unfortunately not everyone has money to buy the best PSU.

im just saying that as that psu gets older weather or not it is using 25% or 100% of power, if the voltage that it is supplying to the cpu changes (from the psu) it could fry your cpu

also this is only $40 and it will cope with your system easily
